Kelly Moore LMT, CIYT, C-IAYT
Kelly Moore has been working therapeutically with individuals since 1990. Integrating years of experience both clinically and as an instructor in bodywork, yoga, and social services, Kelly meets each client where they are and facilitates the desired results.
Following a degree in Sociology and an early career working in social services with at-risk teens and families, interests in mind-body integration brought Kelly to study therapeutic massage and yoga.
On the massage and bodywork path, after graduating from the Center of Advanced Therapeutics, Kelly founded The Balanced Being in 1997 to support clients in living active, pain-free lifestyles through shifting dysfunctional pain patterns with neuromuscular therapy.
Immersed in, and passionate about, the subject of bodywork, Kelly continued studies in advanced bodywork therapies and began teaching therapeutic massage modalities at the Center of Advanced Therapeutics in 2000. Classes taught include Neuromuscular Techniques, Anatomy in Clay, Deep Tissue Techniques, Swedish Massage, and assisting in Advanced Neuromuscular Technique seminars. Kelly's manual therapy practice focuses on addressing injury and pain and includes specialty groups of athletes and pregnant women.
On the yoga path, starting in 1995, experiencing profound and transformative benefits from the practice (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually), the interest shifted from a solely personal practice to one of supporting others. A deeper dive into the study of yoga ensued.
Embarking on the yoga teaching path in 2005, Kelly earned certification in the Iyengar method of yoga (CIYT) and currently holds a Level 3 certification. The certification process in the Iyengar method takes many years of rigorous, in-depth study, requiring sophisticated knowledge of the asanas (poses), an understanding of anatomy and physiology, refined teaching skills, and study of philosophy. An ongoing study is in tandem with advancing certifications. Advanced therapeutic yoga studies include a 3.5-year yoga therapy program with Stephanie Quirk and Yoga for Scoliosis Practicum with Elise Miller. Kelly also holds a certification as a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) from the International Association of Yoga Therapy.
Kelly and her husband, Steven, opened Living Yoga, a yoga studio and wellness center in Denver, CO, offering group yoga classes, workshops, therapeutic sessions, corporate classes, and Yoga Teacher Development courses.
Delighting in the outdoors, Kelly enjoys hiking and skate skiing and has completed many Sprint and Olympic-distance triathlons. Other areas of interest include world travel, meditation, yoga, and learning in new and creative ways.
A lifelong learner, Kelly recently completed a master’s degree in Consciousness, Psychology, and Transformation, and is pursuing a PhD in consciousness studies.
